Wishing for a White Christmas in Florida!

What’s the likelihood that I’ll get a White Chistmas in Southwest Florida?  Other than my stamp set, probably not very likely… but never say never!

This week Cindy Lovell has a great sketch for us to play with at Freshly Made Sketches.  Cindy has awesome talent in design, and I really like her sketch this week, although it WAS a challenge for me.  I’ve made several card with the three shape lineup on the right, but I’m not a fan of sideways sentiments.  I was going to chicken out on this one and turn the sketch so the sentiment would read across (which is still an option for you!), but a challenge is a challenge, so I went for it.  I’m not sure which way the sentiment should read… from top to bottom or bottom to top.  Or does it even matter?  The cute little reindeer should distract you.  🙂

FMS210-White-Christmas

The reindeer is from White Christmas, the snowflakes are from Perpetual Birthday Calendar and the sentiment is from Holly Jolly Greetings.  The squares were washed with Sky Blue, using an Aqua Painter.  The reindeer is outlined with Gold Embossing and colored with the Aqua Painter and Soft Suede.  The snowflakes are Silver Embossed and all square are matted on Red Foil paper.  Did you notice the reindeer’s red rhinestone nose???  I just couldn’t resist!

Oops.  I just noticed that Cindy has the sentiment facing the opposite way than I did mine.  I guess that’s my answer of how I *should* have done it.  I wish I would have noticed it before I pondered it for a long time and, ultimately, picked the other way…

I hope you’ll join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week; I can’t wait to see which way your sentiment is oriented!  🙂

Happy stamping,

This is a truly wonderful festive card! I adore those squares of sparkly reindeer and snowflakes combined with the two-toned sentiment! LOVE this card!

You crack me up! I totally debated the same thing on the sentiment. Kept changing my imaging sheet each way to decide, lol. And to be truthful, the little reindeer and the cute little panels make it a non-issue because they are the star of the show! Love this!

This is beautiful, Cindy! I love the shiny red frames around the squares, and of course the reindeer’s nose steals the show.

I work retouching photos and have to discern very fine differences between colors.

I’m also not a fan of the sideways sentiment and you’re braver than I am because I chickened out out and put my sentiment horizontally 🙂 Your card is so cute – I just love that wee reindeer in the center square.

I did notice the reindeer’s red rhinestone nose and I think it is awesome! And all the shimmer from the embossing and the shine from the foil makes this such a festive Christmas card! Great take on the sketch!

LOL Sounds like we both have issues with sideways sentiments. I searched my stash over for a sentiment that would be turned the right way but still be the sketch. I think yours turned out great though! I love that cute little reindeer too.
