Sweet Little Birdie

I love birds so much, so it’s no wonder I love the For the Birds stamp set.  I have two talking parrots, and I sit on my lanai several times a day watching so many species of birds visit my backyard.  The yard birdies are calming and peaceful, the talking birds, not so much.  But they are quite hilarious and sometimes very sweet.

Anyway, down to today’s card specially made for this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge, which calls for Baked Brown Sugar, Pacific Point and So Saffron:

A little paper piecing made this card quick and easy (as opposed to coloring).  The wonderful chevron DSP is from the 2013-2015 In Color DSP Patterns Stack.

The little flowers were punched with one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (retired).  I made my own little Baked Brown Sugar brads by coloring little circles with a Stampin’ Write Marker and adding a little daub of Crystal Effects.

This was such a quick and easy card, and required very few tools or accessories.PPA206 June 5

Please take a moment to hop over to Pals Paper Arts to see what the Resident Artists have created with this color combo to inspire you.  I hope you’ll play along with us this week!

What a sweet bird and card! The mailbox totally looks like you shaded it an everything! I love paper-piercing. Why don’t I do that more often? LOL

I make my own faux brads too! I take a small piece of cardstock in the color I want, paint it with crystal effects, and let it dry. Then I use one of my hand held circle punches or my crop-a-dile and punch out a bunch. I did a project for some of my ladies with this and I stuck them all onto glue dots so they just had to peel and stick. They loved it!

So cute! And I love the idea of using markers with a dot of crystal effects for a DYI brad! I never thought of that, yet its so obvious! Thanks Cindy for the hot tip!
