Sweet and Simple Birthday

It’s Jennifer Timko’s turn to be hostess at Freshly Made Sketches.  I’m always excited to see what Miss Jennifer has for us to play with and this week’s is extra fun.  The idea for my card came to me almost immediately, but it required me to take the liberty of turning the sketch.

FMS224 Botanicals for YouThis card was so easy to make with a simple rectangle of a pretty floral DSP (this one’ from Love Blossoms) and a rectangle, slightly wider, of Vellum card stock.  I used my Misti and stamp the main image, “just for you” from Botanicals For You, several times with Memento black ink.  To make the DSP piece stick out like on the sketch, a little piece of Blushing Bride was cropped with the Scallop Border Punch to add more to the feminine look.  For finishing touches, I added a little gold cord ribbon and some crystal sequins to finish the ultra-feminine look.

FMS224 Jen T

I hope this card and/or Jennifer’s sketch has inspired you.  Hop on over to Freshly Made Sketches for more inspiration and to play along with us this week.

Happy stamping!

Your bold black sentiment is a fabulous look over the soft vellum and patterns!! It’s an amazing look.

I love that fabulous, bold sentiment against the pretty, feminine paper. And crystal sequins — what!?! I think I need some of those.

Wow Cindy. I was going to say that I really love the look of the vellum over the DSP (and I do!) but that bold sentiment just steals the show! This is simply fabulous!

This is so beautiful! You don’t want to know how many pieces of vellum I threw out this week trying to get a stamped sentiment on it! You make it look so easy……mine was a smeary mess!
