Sunshiny Hello

Well, it appears that everyone has survived the big 200 celebration at Freshly Made Sketches!  Congratulations to our two Queens of Clean and our random drawing winners!  Some of my teammates are probably wanting to throw their hats in and resign after working day in and day out for these last few weeks to make this celebration perfect for our supporters, but FMS is the Hotel California, and they’ve checked in and they can never leave.  Hahahaha!

So, here’s week 1 of the next 200 (officially #201)!  Our host this week is Narelle Farrugia, our Queen of layers, fussy-cutting, flowers, ribbons and bows and color combinations.  There’s probably more, but it’s late and I can’t think of all of her crowns at the moment.  Her sketch this week is a good representation of her style… she’s added a few layers!  I was excited about working with the sketch the moment I saw it, and I hope you experience the same excitement.

FMS201-Hello-Crazy-About-Yo

This was such a fun card to spend time on.  It came together piece by piece, the way creativity should work.  I fell in love with Delightful Dijon while making this card.  It’s a yellow that you can use a lot of without it being overwhelming.  Both layers of the flower are Delightful Dijon; it’s just stamped off once on the top layer.  Both of the rectangular panels are So Saffron, but the horizontal panel has an overlay of Delightful Dijon Dotted Lace Trim.

FMS201 NarelleI stayed true to Narelle’s sketch to the best of my ability.  I couldn’t see any reason to change a thing!

FMS201-Garden-in-Bloom-Craz

Although there’s a sweet little bumble bee in the Garden in Bloom stamp set, I cut this cute little bee from one of the English Garden DSP prints.  With a little Crystal Effects and some Dazzling Details mixed with So Saffron, the little bee got a 3-D face lift.  I just noticed that the bee’s left antenna is bent back in photo, but it really is still there! I just fixed it on the card laying beside me.  🙂

I hope you’ve been inspired by today’s card, and that you’ll hop over to Freshly Made Sketches to see what the Clean Team has whipped up for your viewing pleasure this week.

All of our long-time supporters were there for our 200th Celebration, and we met quite a lot of new card makers/stampers.  We hope to see all of you again this week!

Happy stamping!

Just popping in to say hi from FMS – hope you are enjoying a week off. Its good to do that and come back inspired.

I ♥ your yellow embossed card, sort of a nice end of summer color theme, I’d say.

    Blessings,

Oh this is just wonderful, Cindy! The monochromatic look with the pop of green works really well with these colors and I love that wee bumble bee and I’m so glad to hear that the surgery to fix his antenna was successful 🙂

I am in love with this card! I love the textures and your color choices are PERFECT for this card! You did an absolute awesome job with this layout sketch! Your card brings back memories of my Papa Cain who raised Honey Bees and sold his Cain’s Honey to others! 🙂
