Springtime Thoughts

Yay!  It’s here again… Freshly Made Sketches New Challenge Day!  WooHoo!  This week we have Jen Mitchell taking the lead for us with her fabulously festive looking sketch!  My first thought when I saw it was “Party!”.  Well, something happened between then and when I got around to making the card, and it ended up much more subdued.

I just discovered this great print (the Pistachio Pudding design), and I love it!  The subtle yellows and browns are so pretty.  I paired Soft Suede and So Saffron as my main palette, but also had to throw in a little Wild Wasabi for contrast (leaves) and Crushed Curry (Chevron Ribbon).

The sentiment panel was created with Apothecary Art and Loving Thoughts.  The coordinating cut was made with the Labels Collection Framelits, and the piercing was created using a template from the Festive Paper Piercing Pack.  It doesn’t show up as well as I had hoped.

The Petite Petals and Bird Builder Punches made quick work of the flowers and stems.  A simple Neutrals Candy Dot (Soft Suede) gives the flowers a finished look.

Happy stamping!
