Sparkling Jolly Christmas

One week closer to Christmas!  (Heard from Back Stage:  Earth Shattering Scream)  🙂  I’ve learned that the two things that totally wipe out productivity are procrastination and distraction, and the closer I get to the holidays, the more I do both.  UGH.  I think it’s time to go back to making daily checklists.  I found myself preparing to write this post and went into my craft room to jot down the products that I used and ended up cleaning my whole craft room.  Then I couldn’t find the list I had started!  It’s a good thing I can laugh about it.

So, as for Christmas, I’m still working on pulling together a few more Christmas cards.  Today’s card is based on Amy O’Neill’s clean and simple design for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  Oh, and I have to tell you, Amy was selected by Stampin’ Up! for this year’s Artisan Team!  That’s a HUGE deal!  If you have a moment, stop by Amy’s Blog to congratulate her and while you’re there, you’ll see exactly why she was selected for the Artisan Team.  I love Amy’s style of paper crafting.

Anyway, on to today’s card:

I love the Jolly Christmas stamp set with its big, bold sentiments.  Their so great to use for the focal point of a card.  I kicked this one up a notch by first stamping the sentiment in color, then stamping over it with VersaMark and heat embossing with Iridescent Ice embossing powder on “Holly” and “Christmas”.  It turned out so pretty and festive.

I love any paper that features holly leaves.  That’s probably because I was raised in a little village in Michigan named Holly, and another reason is because holly bushes were pretty much the only green thing growing in the middle of a Michigan winter.  I especially love this design from the Home For Christmas DSP.

I hope you’ll go to Freshly Made Sketches to see what our awesome design team has created to inspire you to play along with this week’s challenge.  Here’s Amy’s wonderful design:

Speaking of Christmas cards, if you’re a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, I’m sure you’re as thrilled with the November kit as my Paper Pumpkin Club and I am.  It is the most beautiful collection (two designs) of 10 Christmas cards.  We ooooo’d and ahhhhh’d for three hours while we laughed and made our cards.  It normally wouldn’t take that long to do a Paper Pumpkin kit, but we have so much fun and enjoy getting together so we don’t rush things along.

I hope you find time for you this week and take some time to be creative!  It’s especially good for you during the hectic holiday season.
