Something Lacy

Love doilies and lace?  Then this card design is for you!  I started with Jennifer Timko’s really unique and interesting sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge for this week.  As soon as I saw the sketch, I saw a ruffled doily.  The doily was easy to ‘ruffle’ by cutting half way to the center of the doily and accordion folding it.

The Something Lacy Stamp Set was heat embossed in white, and colored in random areas with Stampin’ Write Markers.  The sentiment, from Sheltering Tree Stamp Set was heat embossed with gold on vellum to keep the look very soft and feminine.  TIP:  The Candy Dots hide the glue dots on the back side of the vellum that adhere it to the background piece.

ANOTHER TIP:  I was going to dry emboss the bottom portion with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, which I think would have been so pretty, but I glued it all together before I remembered my plan.  I hope that if you CASE this card, that you remember that step!  🙂

I hope you’ll join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week and play along with Jennifer’s fun sketch!

Amazing! I thought for sure that was DSP, but nope just you embossing and coloring those flowers perfectly! I love your accordion doily and embossing the sentiment on vellum is such an elegant touch!
