Something Lacy with Banner Blessings

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means…  A new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our host this week is the always awesome designer, Rita Wright.  I truly am in awe of her amazing talent.  I LOVE all of her creations, and she’s one of the most modest people I’ve ever met.  If I were her, I be holding everything up and saying “See what a great card I made?!”  🙂  Rita created a great sketch this week, too.  Very easy to work with, but enough design to make a really great card and show off a great stamp or DSP.

Of those two items (stamp or DSP), I chose to highlight a fabulous background stamp, Something Lacy, heat embossed with Pool Party Embossing Powder on Early Espresso card stock.

The lacy background needed a border, so strips of Pool Party Cotton Ribbon, Island Indigo card stock and Gold Glimmer paper cut with the Scallop Border Punch came to the rescue.  A Bitty Butterfly and some little flowers from  the Itty Bittly Accents Punch Pack, all adorned with Basic Rhinestone Jewels added a little dimension.

I love the Banner Blessings stamp set, and I love how each of the four sentiments have a scripture on them.  On this one, embossed with Early Espresso, I also colored in the large letters with a Island Indigo Stampin’ Write Marker.

If you’re looking for a quick and easy card (and one that’s mail-friendly), this one fits the bill!

Here’s Rita’s sketch…

Cindy, this is just stunning. It is one of my favorite color combinations, but that embossing just takes it to a whole new level. Wow. Stunning for sure!

Oh, I love that background embossed with white against the dark background. At first I thought it was patterned vellum over the card stock. It’s such an elegant look. I also love the little touches of sparkle. Very pretty, Cindy!

Wow, Cindy. I thought that was DSP, not a lacy embossed image! What a fantastic background for those sweet little flowers and butterfly!
