Shimmering Butterfly Notecard

It’s Freshly Made Sketches Wednesday!  Jennifer Brum is our host this week, and not only is she a fabulously creative card maker, she designs wonderfully fresh and clean sketches that auto-inspire me.  This uncomplicated sketch, lacking those sometimes pesky circles or shapes, it works for virtually any stamp set, yet it provides enough design to create a beautiful and balanced card.

Butterfly Basics

I’m back to my new favorite, Butterfly Basics for my stamp set of choice this week.  I have new stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Brochure that I haven’t inked up yet, but I keep coming back to this set because there are SO MANY possibilities with it.  I now know that this will be a favorite for years, just like Lovely As A Tree.  Hang on a little longer; I’ll get to some of my other new stamp sets soon!

I wanted to use Rich Razzleberry for no particular reason and I went to my Color Coach to see what color suggestions was offered.  One of the color schemes was Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black and Basic Gray.  Oh, yeah.  I knew this was exactly what I wanted for this card.  And out comes another ‘yet-to-be-inked’ background stamp, Something Lacy.  This will also be a very versatile stamp set for me, creating beautiful ‘DSP’, especially in black and white and tone-on-tone with VersaMark.

Butterflies ThinlitsThe beautiful and intricate butterfly was jazzed up with a little Dazzling Details Glitter Glue painted on (two thin coats) and layered over another butterfly cut out of Silver Foil paper.  A flower of Silver Glimmer Paper was cut with the Petite Petals Punch and enhanced with a circle of Rich Razzleberry covered with one of the new Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers.  So super simple and such a finished look!   You might notice the lack of a sentiment.  Well, today, I just couldn’t be pinned down to a certain sentiment… I think this one will more likely be used for a notecard, but a sentiment banner can be added at a moment’s notice, should it need be.  🙂

This card is a little ‘busier’ than my usual style, but I think I like it and I hope you do, too!  I also hope you’ll play along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches… be sure to hop over and check out the ‘Clean Team’s’ fantastic designs that will be sure to stir up your card making mojo.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you’ve been inspired!
