Oh My!

Are you a Halloween fanatic?  When I was a kid, I loved Halloween.  When I had a child at home, it was a fun date to look forward to.  But once my daughter grew up, I quit giving this holiday much attention.  I know people who decorate as much, if not more, than they do for Christmas!  I’m more of a fall and Thanksgiving decorator, but in recent years, I’ve given Halloween it’s due diligence by adding a little Halloween decor to my fall decorations for a couple of weeks.  Then the Halloween decor comes down and the Thanksgiving decor goes up with my fall decor.

Stampin’ Up! has brought back my excitement for Halloween with it’s great stamp sets!  When I saw Toxic Treats, Googly Ghouls and Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit, I had to have all of them!  So, I hope you’re a fanatic, because you’ll see more Halloween inspired cards and projects than you did last year.   I’ve even added a Halloween Category button to my sidebar.

Today’s card features the Toxic Treats Stamp Set.  I’ve used ‘haunting’ colors, Elegant Eggplant (card base), Basic Black, Perfect Plum (a perfect spooky night color!), River Rock (just plain ghouly-looking) and Pumpkin Pie.

The upper portion of the Basic Black background panel was embossed with the Spider Web Embossing Folder.  To give a little shimmer to the webbed embossing, I spread a little Dazzling Details Irridescent Glitter Glue on the raised edges.  The bottom panel, which I thought went well with the gate, is from the Regals DSP Patterns Stack.  The Pumpkin Pie 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon cleverly covers where the papers meet.

Using Basic Black, I stamped the gate and Halloween sentiment on Perfect Plum card stock and “Witches and Goblins and Spooks oh my” on River Rock card stock.  Both were cropped it with Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The Basic Black Glimmer Brads were a perfect accent for the main panel.   Both pieces were ‘popped’ with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Halloween is such a fun time.  I hope you stay young at heart and indulge your ‘inner child’ by celebrating it, too!

Wow, what a cool (and spooky!) card! I love the color scheme and how perfectly the stamped imaged fit on that tag you made from the Apothecary Accent die. Totally fantastic!
