Odds n’ Ends

AI’m going to call this my “Odds ‘n Ends” post because there’s no one single highlighted stamp set, but rather a mish-mash of collected pieces in my stash that all just came together for this simple, but pretty, card.

FMS223-Valentine-for-a-FrieThis card was based on Amy O’Neill’s sketch for this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I think this sketch is sweet, just like Amy.  That made me want to make a sweet card!  🙂

FMS223 AmyI started with a white background and sponged it using a stencil with both Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride.  Then I found some thread that resembled Crumb Cake and ran a straight stitch around the border.  One of my crossed pieces behind the circle is from Love Blossoms DSP Stack and the other is Blushing Bride with two pieces of Gold Ribbon.  The circle was cut with a 2-1/2″ Circle Punch, and that, too, is Love Blossoms DSP.  I used my heart punch to crop a heart out of Blushing Bride and then heat embossed the word “FRIEND” from You’re Wonderful (retired).  The heart then had another heart (from Perfect Pennants) stamped with VersaMark on it.  I added a lil’ Wink of Stella to the heart to give it that soft glitter.  Note in the photo above that the background panel is offset to the right bottom corner for a little different twist.

FMS223-Friend-ValentineAnd finally, the Valentine’s sentiment is from yet-another-retired-Hostess-set (Good Greetings).  It was stamped in Blushing Bride and matted with a very thin border of Gold Foil Sheets.

I hope you’ve been inspired to create.  Please join us at Freshly Made Sketches to see what the ‘Clean Team’ has designed for you and to play along with us this week!
