Hi! It’s another hot and humid day here in Florida and I’m still waiting for fall-like weather…
This week Karren Johnson from Stamping Stuff is our host at Freshly Made Sketches, and, as always, Karren has created a freshly made and fun sketch for us to use. Since it’s so hot here, but mostly because I’m already behind, I’ve made a Christmas card with it.
I paired a pretty red bird made with the Bird Builder Punch with the Wonderous Wreath bundle (stamp set and framelits dies) to create a nesting bird. The Brick Wall provided a nice background. I filled in the ‘grout’ with a Smoky Slate marker and sponged the bricks with a sponge that has really big holes (old sponge set from I-can’t-remember-when-or-where). The ribbon is also an I-can’t-remember piece from my stash… possibly from an old Holiday catalog? It looks like Cherry Cobbler, so maybe?
The sentiment was pieced together with a few stamps from Holly Jolly Christmas.
The details: a few berries made with the small hole punch on my Crop-a-dile and some Snowflake Sequins covered with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
Now that it’s November, I’m getting a little antsy for Christmas and am wanting to start decorating! How about you? I will force myself to hold off until the day after Thanksgiving, but I think I’ll get a few things out and trouble-shoot before that day arrives. The lights always seem to have a way to delay the process!
Please hop over to Freshly Made Sketches to see the unique and various themed creations that the Clean Team has designed to inspire you using Karren’s sketch, and then head to your craft space to make something to show us! I hope to see you in the gallery this week.
