Love for a Friend

I have friends that I love like family, and I love to make cards for them for Valentine’s Day, too.

Sweet-Essentials-and-Fabulo

Rita Wright’s fabulous sketch with the large banner, designed for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week, was my inspiration for this card.

FMS120 Rita

The timing of Rita’s sketch couldn’t have been better because I just received my Stampin’ Up! order with my new Banners Framelits dies!  I used a total of three Framelits sets on this card (quick and easy designing, especially with the Magnetic Platform!), and the other two where the Hearts Collection and Ovals Collection.

Valentine-for-a-Sweet-Frien

Two sentiment stamp sets provided just what was needed for this special card:  “love you” comes from Sweet Essentials and the separate words “sweet” and ‘friend” are from Fabulous Phrases.

The chevron oval is a stamp from Oh, Hello!

Gingham-Valentine

I love the cloth-effect created by using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder with the gingham print from Gingham Garden DSP.

I hope you’ll join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  We’d love to see what you create with Rita’s sketch.  Be sure to stop by and see what the ‘Clean Team’ has created to inspire you before you get started!

SUPPLIES:  Stamp Sets:  Sweet Essentials, Oh, Hello, and Fabulous Phrases:  Paper:  Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Gingham Garden DSP;  Ink:  Strawberry Slush, VersaMark and Basic Black;  Tools and Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Ovals, Circles and Banners Collection Framelits Dies (all sold separately), Brights Designer Buttons, Large Rhinestone Jewels, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love this, Cindy! The framelits totally inspired my sketch; they are so fun aren’t they?! I love the embossed DSP; I think I still have a sheet of that so it is going to have a playdate with my lattice folder soon!

…now I want to go on a picnic!

Wow Cindy!!! This heart is just gorgeous! Beautiful mix of patterns and I love your sentiment behind your cut-out heart! I only received my banner dies today – a tad too late for this challenge :(
