I’m Hosting This Week!

I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it!  (Is the song stuck in your head now?)  🙂  It’s time for another sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and this week I’m hosting!

First I’ll show you my card, and then the sketch…

I started with a base card of Crumb Cake Card Stock, and added faux paper-piercing along the top edge with the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack template and a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.  I love the paper Piercing templates.  They make dressing up your card so easy and fun!

Next, I layered a piece of Raspberry Ripple Card Stock, which was trimmed with the Scallop Edge Border Punch, and a piece of First Edition DSP.  I used VersaMark and Black Embossing Powder to make my sentiment, from the Trust God Stamp Set to really show up well against the First Edition print.  I stamped the image a second time with Basic Black ink on Whisper White card stock, and cut out the heart.  I colored the heart with Raspberry Ripple Stampin’ Write Marker, and then added Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details Glitter Glue to give it some shine.  For a final touch to the heart, I added a tiny Basic Pearl and used a Stampin’ Dimensional to “pop” it on my card.

To make the sentiment pop even more, I framed it with the New Flourish Designer Frames from the Holiday Catalog.  I used the new 1/8″ Mini Brads to secure it to my project.

The flower was made by first patting the VersaMark pad down one side of the Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, to about the halfway point.  Then I sprinkled it with Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat set it with the New Heat Tool on the low setting.  I folded the ribbon, not quite it half, with the glittery side up, and the plain side poking out from behind.  Using some white twine and a large eye needed, I basted close to the fold line and pulled it tight to make a circle.  I added a Regals Designer Button tied with White Baker’s Twine that I died with the Raspberry Ripple Classic Stampin’ pad.   It’s so hard to see in the photos, but the flower is really stunning with the Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder!

Oh, I almost forgot!  Here’s my sketch…

As you can see, I took the liberty to rotate the sketch for my card.  I had so many ideas for the sketch when I made it, but then at the last second, another idea popped into my little brain, and somehow the sketch flipped.

I hope you’ll visit Freshly Made Sketches and see what the Clean Team has made to inspire you!  There’s such a variety of styles and themes so I’m sure you’ll find one that inspires YOU!  I hope you’ll support me and play along with my sketch this week!  Okay, let’s all sing it together… “I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it”!  Now that you’re all excited, get busy stamping!

Why am I not surprised? Another STUNNING card Cindy! I had no idea those frames were in the Holiday catalog…how could I miss them? And, I am still not clear about how you made that wonderful tulle flower, but I am going to play around and see if I can re-create yours. This is a beautiful card….and congrats on your hosting.
