I Love Stamps!

Happy Tuesday, stamping friends!  I found a challenge at Fusion Card Challenge that I couldn’t pass up, and I thought this adorable little Pure Innocence Crafty Friends stamp set from My Favorite Things was perfect to use for the sketch part of the challenge:MFT-Watercoloring

Pure Innocence stamp sets are one of my biggest weaknesses.  They are all so adorable and include wonderful sentiments.  As a stamper, and with my passion for collecting stamps, I had to have this set.  These stamps force me to work on my coloring skills, too.  That’s a Plus-Plus.  I used Prisma Watercolor Pencils and an Aqua Painter to color this image.

Pure-Innocence-Crafty-FrienWhen I *thought* I was all done, I decided to paint the tabletop with Crystal Effects and add dots of it to her eyes and barrette.  The photography makes her eyes look a little scary in the picture above, but they aren’t on the actual card.  I used a tiny spot of White Gel Pen on each eye for that little glimmer in her eyes and it shows a little better in the first photo.

I also fussy cut the sweet little stamper from the tabletop up to place her against a background of DSP.

Fusion Challenge 1-20-2015Have you been to the Fusion Card Challenge blog?  It’s their 2nd Anniversary and the talent this week is jaw-dropping.  I drooled over the cards for quite awhile and almost reconsidered posting this card after seeing their inspiration cards.  I also put my “circle” element (heart in my case) on the wrong side of the oval; I had it in my head one way and when I went to post to the challenge, I noticed it was supposed to be on the top.  I don’t think the heart would have looked good on the bottom, so I’m glad I didn’t notice until it was too late.  🙂  I would have had to do a complete re-design.

I hope you have enjoyed this spur-of-the-moment post and that something has spurred you to head to your craft space!

Happy Stamping!

Cindy, I love the (big/little) dipper card, and it’s masculine too!! You’re the first one I’ve come across that created a card using this stamp, very original and beautiful. I just started using Stamping Up products and I’m slowly learning how to stamp and make cards. Thank you for the inspiration.
