Hello There, Sketch 200!

I really, really, really hope you’re ready for this!

Hooray!  We’re celebrating sketch #200 at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  That’s exciting all itself, but some of our Design Team members have friends in high places in the stamping world, and they’ve collectively gathered a LOT of companies who want to help us celebrate by donating prizes to our participants this week.  And, if that’s not amazing enough, those companies have sent us their very best Design Team members to play along with us.  So much inspiration in one place is going to blow you away (and me, too!).

I’m going to give you a quick look and description of my card this week so you can get over to the party!

FMS200-Vivid-VasesThis week’s sketch is probably one of the simplest and cleanest ever.  Almost a blank canvas with endless options.  I immediately knew it was my chance to use my Brick Wall embossing folder, which I am now totally in love with.  I added a little more realistic look by coloring the “mortar” with a gray marker.  My husband informed me that it’s the best embossing he’s seen so far.  It’s always nice to have his endorsement!  I’m thinking maybe he should offer his consulting services to Stampin’ Up!.

FMS200-Brick-EmbossingA little shading and some Crystal Effects brings those vases to life.  The sentiment from Hero Arts sentiment set, and was just the fun font and sentiment that I wanted for this card.

Okay, I’ve kept you here long enough.  It’s time to get to the party.  But before you go, here’s a quick look at the sketch that you are DEFINITELY going to want to play along with for a chance to win some of the treasure trove of prizes at Freshly Made Sketches.

FMS200

We’re all so grateful that so many companies have generously sponsored us and made this a celebration to remember.  I hope you’ll reach out and give them your thanks, too!

Good luck in the prize drawings!

Wow, Cindy! You truly are an artist! When I use this stamp, my creation looks nothing like this. I so wish we could spend some time stamping together. I would love to see how you make all of these lovely cards. Beautifully done!

Cindy, I am always amazed when I come here and this card is as amazing as always. I think that Bryce is on to something with that embossed brick wall. Coloring the mortar gray really gives the bricks some dimension. And the vases look positively 3D! So glad we made it to 200 in one piece. Let’s hope we survive the next 200! 🙂

Cindy, this is absolutely beautiful! Yours is the best use of those vases that I’ve seen. The shading and Crystal Effects make them look so realistic. And, the “mortar” adds so much to the brick wall. Great job!
