I’m back with another Going Global card today for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I’m hosting this week, so I had the opportunity to create a sketch that I could use for a “joy fold” card. I didn’t have a stamp set in mind when I created the sketch, but quickly found that Going Global worked perfectly with the sketch and with the special fold.
This was another quick and easy card that’s masculine and can be used just to say I love you for any occasion: Valentine’s Day, Anniversary or even Birthday. The Silver Glimmer paper star adds a bit of festivity and the Crushed Curry DSP gives it some color.
I love the “joy fold” and it can be cut and scored to suit the card you’re making. The measurements do not have to be specific. For me, the important thing is the overlapping flap and an element to tuck it under to create a closure. By only putting Stampin’ Dimensionals on the upper and right portions of the star, it allow the flap to tuck underneath the left side to keep the card closed.
I used a few more glittery stars and one tiny glittery heart (from the Owl Builder Punch) to adorn the sentiment. I believe this sentiment is from an older My Favorite Things stamp set. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep the wrapping, but the font is like other MFT stamps that I have. I think this will be a Valentine’s Day card (if I can wait that long to give it to my honey!. 🙂
I hope you’re inspired by my sketch and my card and I would love to see what you create with it. Please join us for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week, and don’t forget to visit the blog to see what my fabulous teammates have created to inspire you!
