Gentlemen’s cards. Tough subject for some of us. Yesterday, my mom asked me if I had a sympathy card appropriate for a gentleman. No, I did not, but I was doing a birthday card that would be good for a guy, and I put sympathy cards on my to-do list.
So, I’m the host at Freshly Made Sketches this week, and I hope you find my sketch to be as easy and inspiring as I did. Sometimes I design a sketch and then when I go to make a card based on that sketch, I ask myself “What the heck were you thinking?!” This one didn’t leave me feeling frazzled, and it actually led me to making an actual quick and easy card.
The front portion of the base card (Whisper White) was cut 1-1/4″ short so that the Pacific Point strip with the candle was visible with the card open or closed, and it still leaves plenty of room on the inside for a sentiment and writing.
The candle was created by using the striped stamp from the Perfect Pennants stamp set, adding a piece of White Baker’s Twine and a hand cut ‘flame’.
If you’re looking for a seriously quick and easy (and mail friendly!) card, this is it! I hope you’ll hop over to Freshly Made Sketches to see what the ‘Clean Team’ to see what my fellow designers have created for you this week. I have to say, they’ve done my sketch proudly, but would someone please tell them that they’re not suppose to upstage the host?! 🙂
Here’s the sketch…
