For a Friend

Mojo Monday had a great sketch this week by the very creative and talented Mary Fish, and I just had to play along.  The sketch is fresh, simple and user-friendly.  Who could ask for more?

Isn’t that a fun sketch?  I decided to make a card for a friend, so I grabbed my I {Heart} Hearts stamp set to use for my focal point.

I didn’t want to take away from the “friend” heart, so I chose to compliment it with flowers made with the Boho Blossoms Punch.  The flowers were made out of one of the DSPs from Twitterpated, and I added red buttons from the Regals Designer Buttons to make the flowers look like some of the flowers in the background DSP, which is also from Twitterpated DSP.   I added Basic Pearls to the centers of the buttons for a little extra bling.

The “friend” heart was stamped onto Whisper White cardstock with Riding Hood Red Classic Ink to coordinate with the DSP and the Riding Hood Red cardstock.  I also used Basic Gray cardstock to coordinate with the DSP.  The Basic Gray panel was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The Riding Hood Red border around the Basic Gray Panel was cropped with the Scallop Edge Punch.

The sentiment banner was stamped with “Thinking of You” from the You Are Loved Stamp Set, and was inked with VersaMark and then heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.  Two more pearls were added to the banner.

I {Heart} Hearts stamp set was one of the first that I ever bought, and I love it as much today as I did the day I bought it.  This set is on the endangered species list (retiring stamps list), and it will be gone May 31st.  If you love it, get it now!  Item #117010 for Wood Mount and #118571 for Clear Mount.  Keep in mind that both the Heart to Heart Punch (#119881) and the Full Heart Punch (#119883) coordinate with this set.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and that it inspired you to stamp all weekend!  🙂

Thanks for stopping by!
