FMS273 Happy Happy Happy

Happy February!  I’m flabbergasted that it’s already February.  I’m starting to wish that I hadn’t taken down our Christmas tree and décor; it’s almost time to put it back up.

The good news about the quickly passing time is that it’s time for another sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our dear friend in New Zealand, Karren Johnson, is our host this week.  Karren creates the most fresh, innovative cards, using the latest trends and the talent doesn’t stop there.  Once you start working with this sketch, you realize how truly versatile it is.  Here’s my first card using Karren’s sketch:

FMS273-Cool-TreatsThe three panels of the sketch and the DSP background set the tone for this card.  The little panels became little message banners; I made the plain white banners coordinate with the DSP by simply adding some dots with the fine end of Stampin’ Write Markers.

FMS273-Cool-Treats-BundleI double stamped the sentiment, first in Smoky Slate and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  You can see the effect in the close up photo.  Overall, this card was so simple, it doesn’t require much explanation.  🙂

FMS273 KarrenI really hope you’ll come play with us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  I’m so curious to see if anyone has similar ideas for this sketch that I still have in my head!  Hop over to the Blog to see what Karren and our Team have designed with this fun sketch, grab some Mojo that is overflowing, and get crafting!

Happy Stamping!

Dots with the fine tip end of the markers! Who would have thought? Certainly, not me! SUPER card Cindy! So you stamped the Happiest Birthday in gray first, then again with Versamark, slightly off, then embossed in gold? Another great idea! I must go try this! Hugs…. XOXO
