FMS225 By The Tide Fishies

Hello!  It’s time for another Freshly Made Sketches blog challenge, and our host this week is the uber-talented Jen Mitchell.  Jen’s sketch brought me immediate ideas; I hope it does the same for you!

Whenever I use Stampin’ Up’s By The Tide stamp set, I almost always heat emboss the fish, and if I don’t have the right color of embossing powder, I just add clear embossing over top of my already inked image.  After inking and clear embossing, I colored each fish with a blender pen and Daffodil Delight ink and then added a light layer of Wink of Stella.  Their eyes got a little filling in with a black marker and a dab of Crystal Effects.  They have such wonderful texture when they’re done.

For the ‘U’, I used 3-4 layers of clear embossing powder to really make the image pop.  The ‘thank’ is also heat embossed with clear, but it’s one layer.  Both stamps are from Simon Says Stamp Big U Words.

Everything was placed on the vertical strip made with My Favorite Things Lots of Dots background stamp (stamped in Pool Party ink on Pool Party card stock).  A few Rainstones by Pretty Pink Posh gave this card its finishing touch.

WOW! These little fish are so real looking! Did you hand snip them out because I don’t remember a framelit for them. Great job! The wink of stella adds just the right amount of “fish scales”. Perfect!
