Flowering Flourishes

What’s better than Flowering Flourishes to make someone feel better?  Not much, in my estimation!  I haven’t been feeling well lately, but making this card for someone very special made me feel a lot better.

Flowering-Flourishes

I’m hosting this week at Freshly Made Sketches and I created a super-simple sketch for the challenge.

FMS-001

As I was deciding what supplies/stamp sets to use for this sketch, it was screaming “CHRISTMAS”, but I really needed to make a “Thinking of You” card, so I fought off the temptation.  The first item I chose was the Eastern Elegance DSP, and it just took off from there.

The image from the Flowering Flourishes stamp set was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Coastal Cabana card stock, and to give it just a tiny bit of color, I stamped the image a second time on Whisper White with Crushed Curry.  I cut out the tiny little flower, glued it on and added Crystal Effects to give it dimensional and shine.

After using the Paper Piercing Tool, Mat and Occasions Paper Piercing Pack, I “connected the dots” with a Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker for a very realistic-looking faux stitching.

I hope you are inspired by my sketch and my card design, and that you’ll play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  I look forward to seeing your creation in the gallery.  Don’t forget to stop over to see what my fellow ‘Clean Team’ members have created to inspire you!
