Our talented “Clean Team” designer, Narelle Farrugia, has created an awesome sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches! I love all the layers and panels and possibilities with this one!
Even though we’re in the midst of fall and holiday card preparations, I still need to sneak in a birthday card every here and there to keep some in my stash, and when I saw Narelle’s sketch, I saw a great opportunity to use the piece of cake from the Sketched Birthday stamp set for the focal point. Some bright colors and fun patterns from the I Am Me DSP Collection and a witty sentiment makes this a great card for any of my waist-watching girlfriends!
If we’re going to eat the carbs, we have to make the cake look good! It was fussy-cut, colored and popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and a colored Rhinestone Basic Jewel was added to the candle flame. I made custom banners with Stampin’ Write Markers to coordinate with the papers.
Two stamps from Bring on the Cake stamp set give the card interior the perfect sentiment to complement the fun card.
I can’t wait to use Narelle’s sketch again. I’m thinking Christmas next. Hop on over to see the wide variety of designs that the ‘Clean Team’ has created to get you warmed up and ready to play this week at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll come back tomorrow to see what I’ve whipped up for the very cool sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts.
