Crazy Crafter Goes on Embossing Frenzy!

Yes, I’ve been on an embossing frenzy, and it was FUN!  I’ll tell you why in a moment.  But first, it’s a milestone celebration at Pals Paper Arts this week!  It’s our 200th challenge, and to celebrate, we’re getting both teams together to share 20 beautiful designs based on Margaret Moody’s fabulous sketch.  And, for the design team, we added a twist that you might want to take on yourself:  we each used a different color for a monochromatic card.  AND… we’re giving away all 20 cards to one lucky winner.  So come play along this week!

PPA200Okay, why the embossing frenzy?  In a word… Monochromatic.  One color.  Hmmmm.  First, to get another shade of Wisteria Wonder, I heat embossed with the Fabulous Flourishes stamp set and Clear Embossing Powder on the largest panel.

En-Francais-Fabulous-FlouriAt that point, it became clean that this card was going to need some light.  I started with a little bit of Whisper White, and that wasn’t quite doing what I wanted.  So I matted with Silver Foil paper.  Yep,  better, but not done.  Silver Embossing Powder.  WooHoo.  The more I added, the happier I became.  🙂  So I commenced to pretty well cover the card with it.  All the edges of the small rectangles and the flower, with the En Francais stamp set, even the white button for the flower center.

Heat-Embossing

Did you catch the image from the Happy Watercolor stamp set?  The circles on the vellum flower front.  The vellum was glued to a piece of Whisper White to make the Wisteria Wonder dots show.

Okay, maybe I got a little carried away with the embossing, but I had a lot of fun doing it.

I hope you have as much fun making a card with Margaret’s sketch as I did!  Make sure to post your photo of your card in our gallery at Pals Paper Arts to enter the drawing for the 20 cards!

Ok, I did not realize you did so much embossing until I looked a little closer, and the results are simply beautiful! And putting the stamped vellum over Whisper White is a great idea that adds a subtle touch of color. Very nice card!
