Colorful Thank You

Yay!  I’m back for another week with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our hostess is Jen Mitchell, who I think has the most gorgeous style of cardmaking and I like her sketches, too.  🙂  Jen’s sketch is wide open for interpretation, and I went with a watercolor background and a big, bold sentiment.FMS235-Another-Thank-YouI love one-layer cards (technically, this is two layers) and the simplicity of them.  The bright watercolor background makes a cheerful thank you card.  I love the big bold sentiments, and these two words are both from Another Thank You photopolymer set, and for the first time ever, I cut stamps!  I separated the words.  Now I know stampers have been doing this for a long time, but I’ve never had the courage to cut one of my precious stamps.  But I do love how these two specific words look together and cutting them apart from the words that they were paired with made this so much easier to stamp.  A small scattering of yellow and clear sequins and one easy-peasy card.

FMS235 Jen MI hope you already have an idea for this sketch and are heading to your craft area to start working on it!  Don’t forget to visit Freshly Made Sketches to see what our ‘Clean Team’ has prepared to get your creative juices flowing.  We’ll be looking for you in the gallery this week!

Stamp Set:  SU Another Thank You;  Paper:  Tim Holtz Water Color Paper and SU Thick White Card Stock;  Ink:  Zig Clean Color Markers and VersaMark Black Onyx;  Accessories:  Yellow and Clear Sequins (old stash).

Hello Cindy: Your water colored background just stuns me, I’ve never been able to achieve balance and color without making a big mess, your colors look vibrant and they are not running into each other at all, just so beautiful. I guess I need to practice more.
Thank you for your sweet comment on my FMS card, this sketch was right up my alley.

You brave, brave girl. I have contemplated cutting stamps and I always chicken out! I know it’s not a big deal, but I’m always afraid I’ll cut off some vital part and things will never be the same again!

So glad you’re back in the swing of things again and what a blockbuster you’ve got here! The background colors are so bold and colorful and they really show off that sentiment in a BIG way! This is so gorgeous!

WOW! I love those beautiful colors you chose. Did you put them on a clear block, mist with water and place it on your card? And what colors did you use? Gorgeous! And you are right, the big bold Thank you in black is stunning against those colors! Beautiful card, Cindy! Thanks for the inspiration! I have to try this. Hugs!
