Christmas Wishes with A Lovely Tree

My card for this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches gave me another opportunity to use another lovely tree from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set.  I have loved this particular tree stamp since the moment I saw it.

FMS162-Love-As-A-TreeHow lucky are we to have Kim Singdahlsen as our host this week?   She has awesome papercrafting talents, and now she’s showing her skills at creating fabulous, fresh and user-friendly sketches.  I was tempted to rotate the sketch, but then I quickly found that my tree fit in the vertical panel perfectly, and the card was designed around that panel.

FMS162The tree was inked up in three colors:  Mossy Meadow, Chocolate Chip and Smoky Slate.  I love the look of the tree trunk going all the way up through the tree, and the Smoky Slate was perfect for the shadow line at the bottom of the tree.

FMS162-Christmas-WishesThe background piece (Night of Navy) was stamped a thousand times (well, it seemed like it!) with the tiny little snowflakes from Holiday Home with White Craft Ink, and then sprinkled with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and heat set.  The sentiment is from Endless Wishes and was also heat embossed (Cherry Cobbler) on a print from the Gold Soiree Specialty DSP.  A little Red Glimmer Paper star, cut with the Star Framelits and punched with two 1/16″ holes for the Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine gave the final sparkling touch.

I hope you are inspired by my card and that you’ll play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.  Be sure to check out Kim and the rest of the  ‘Clean Team’s’ wonderful variety of designs and themes made with this sketch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful! This sketch could have been made for this tree. And I can see some sparkle in your background in the photo, so I can imagine how sparkly it is in real life.
