Celebrate with Very Vintage Stampin’ Around Wheel

Celebrate

I can’t believe I’ve been making cards for over two years, and I’ve never used a Stampin’ Around Wheel on a card.  This is the first and I love it!  I have several wheels that I haven’t used and I’ll definitely be inking them up very soon.  I used the Very Vintage wheel to create a clean and simple card.

The sketch for the challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches was designed by our very creative Linda Suarez, and it’s a great sketch to play with.  As soon as I saw it, I had several ideas of how I could use it.

FMS Sketch #76

I decided to try out my Very Vintage Stampin’ Around Wheel to use for the panel.  It makes such a beautiful backdrop for the three elements, and I can easily make a matching envelope by using the wheel on the flap of the envelope.

Paper Flowers with Dahlias

The flowers were created with two different sizes of Scallop Circle Punches, 7/8″ and 1-1/4″.  The edges were clipped towards the center to create individual petals.  In Color Dahlia embellishments add a beautiful splash of color, as well as texture and dimension, to the centers of the flowers.

The Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder gives more texture and design to my fairly monochromatic look.

Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set

The sentiment, from Feeling Sentimental (free stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration brochure), was the perfect complement to the Very Vintage image.  “Celebrate” is a great sentiment that can be used for birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, etc., which makes this a great card to have on hand.

I hope you’ll join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Be sure to pop in to see what the ‘Clean Team’ has created to inspire you!

This is lovely! The stamp wheel, color and embossing all compliment each other. It is hard to pull off a vintage look that is clean, but you have done it!

This is totally stunning Cindy! Gorgeous amount of white and a very clever idea of using the wheel (can’t believe you haven’t used one on a card before!) it gives a lovely effect! Thanks for having me play along for 6 months!

Fabulous card Cindy! Wow! I don’t think I’ve used a wheel very often on a card…I actually don’t remember the last time I used one! I love those flowers and the embossed border! That pop of red is perfect!

Too funny because I think this was my first wheel card too! I did cheat and cut mine out though. I LOVE your card. The wheeled part is a splendid background for those lovely flowers. Great colors too!

WOW! I’ve only used a wheel one time, so I’m right there with you! This is a great card Cindy; love the classic details and the colors! Super duper!

This is stunning!! I am not a wheel person either but maybe I need to become one if I can make cards like this (or CASE yours). The pretty centers on the flowers are awesome!

Add me to those who don’t use their wheels. I got this one a long time ago and it’s never been inked–like most of my wheels. I’ve just ordered this embossing folder so now I’m ready to ink up thanks to you!

WHAT?! You’ve not used a wheel on a card?? Well, when I saw this card, I thought…”what a great idea, to use this wheel as a centerpiece for those flowers!”….so you definitely rocked it first time! Wonderful creation!
