Blessed by Friends

One of the greatest things about hosting a blog and being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is the wonderful people you meet.  There have been several blog followers and customers that I’ve developed a close relationship to, and today I want to share with you the very special card and gift that one of those dear friends sent me.

First, here’s the card that Malou, (who’s been stamping since 1995!) made just for me.  Malou and I began our journey together last year when I first started my blog and newsletter, and we have since developed a close, but long-distance friendship.

Malou is very talented with her papercrafting, as you can see!  Her color coordination and design are perfection, and she has an impecable eye for detail.

I especially love the DSP she pulled out of her stash.  Paired with the Eyelet Border Punch, it looks like real lace.  Malou wrote about the Orchid Opulence:  “…that cardstock is a vintage and well-kept item for me.  That color was my wedding color, so it also has sentimental value.”

Look at the detail on the butterflies.  Aren’t they beautiful?!  The handwritten note on the inside was so special and I cried tears of happiness and gratitude.

Malou also made this notebook for me.  She wrote:  “With my creative juices still flowing, I started to case it by making one for myself… which miraculously became a dozen in different colors.”  She plans to give them to her girlfriends on a trip that they’re all taking soon.

I had a difficult time getting either of my cameras to capture the colors correctly on this notebook.  The ribbon that appears blue here is actually a vibrant purple.  I love the way that she used the variety of coordinating ribbons.  The details are so stunning.   Here’s the inside of the notebook:

I love the way she made the top of the pad of paper coordinate with the folder.  Wouldn’t you just love to spend a week with her soaking up the years of papercrafting knowledge?  Malou admits that she has an “SU Passion” and I think it’s evident in her creations!

I give thanks to God for using my passion for papercrafting to connect me with so many wonderful people, both through my blog and through the wonderful group of Pretty Pals Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.  I’ve come to learn that the men and women who create cards have a desire to make other people’s lives a little brighter, and I’m honored to be among them.  I want to also give thanks to my friend Karen, who introduced me to stamping!

Thank you, Malou, for making my life brighter by being a part of it!

You are very blessed ( like so many other bloggers) to have made wonderful friendships through this crafting hobby of ours. The card and notepad you received are so pretty, and you must be a great friend too or you wouldn’t have them today 🙂

    Hi Cindy,,
Dear one, you touch so many lives with the gift you have been given of papercrafting. I count myself so blessed to be one of the “close long distance” friendships that has come about because of your wonderful blog. I know that your dear friend Malou would agree with me when I say that God has a unique and wonderful way of knitting hearts together.
Although I live up here in Canada and will probably never have the opportunity to meet you in person, you are one the blessing in my life that gives me so much joy. Each morning I make my cup of tea and open up my email and spend a wee bit of time with you when I look about your blog.
Please continue to share with us all the talents of those who have touched your life, like Malou. Perhaps you can make one of your little “catagories” cards that have been personally been made for you and that have blessed you.
Isn’t it so wonderful that although our day to day lliving brings us struggles and worries and stresses and upsets, that it also brings us a small gift in our mailbox, a small treasure that touches our heart because it was made lovingly with just you in mind and it carries inside a huge sentiment from the heart of someone many miles away. I am sure you felt that way when you opened Malou’s beautiful card.
You are special Cindy. I know you have blessed my life.
    Love and Hugs….Marianne
