Bitty Butterflies Make You Feel Better

Stampin Up Papillon Potpourri

I’m excited to be hosting this week’s sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches .  I had an idea in mind when I created the sketch, but it totally morphed into something else when I sat down at my craft table.

Freshly Made Sketches #91

Last week Rita Wright made a card with a color combination from the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach, and I haven’t been able to get the colors or her card out of my mind.  If you missed Rita’s fabulous card CLICK HERE to see it.  They were Smoky Slate, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz.  I thought that in the photo of Rita’s card that the Smoky Slate looked like Wisteria Wonder, so I added it to this card, too.

Papillon Potpourri and Bitty Butterfly PunchIt’s very hard to capture the true color of the Smoky Slate with a camera.  The background (card interior is Smoke Slate, as is the matte of the flag banner; and the purple butterflies are stamped with Wisteria Wonder.  The card front, including the butterflies, were spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz for a subtle glistening shimmer and Rhinestone Basic Jewels gave the butterflies some added bling.

Stampin Up Express Yourself Hostess

Express Yourself, a new fabulous new specially-priced Hostess set with twelve sentiments that pretty well cover it all, was exactly what I needed for this Get Well card for a friend.

I hope you are inspired by this week’s sketch and that you’ll come play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

Pretty card with such a fun color combination! I am wondering what type of glue you used to secure the butterflies. Thanks.

    1. Cindy Hall

Hi Linda. I used a Glue Dot on each butterfly so I could still “fluff up” the wings.
