Yay! Rita Wright is hosting at Freshly Made Sketches this week, and she’s designed an awesome sketch for us to play with! I chose to make a Valentine for my Mom with Rita’s sketch and finally got an opportunity to ink up my new Painted Petals stamp set, which I LOVE.
First, I have to say I’ve never been good with multiple ribbons or banners, especially the vertical ones. I will say that I did try, but didn’t like any combination I came up with to go with my focal point. So a common standby for those of us that have trouble with those banners is to stamp where the banners should be. Painted Petals stamp set has this great strip of dots (kinda the bokeh-look), which worked great. I only used two colors and stamped off for the second row of each color. The photopolymer set makes it a breeze to line up the rows.
The sentiment is my own, typed on my computer and printed on my printer. As I think about it, I don’t know if this card can wait until Valentine’s Day. I just might have to give it my Mom early, just as a thank you card for being a great mom.
After having seen the rest of the ‘Clean Team’s’ creations, I’d say they didn’t have any trouble at all with the banners. Just wait until you see what they designed to inspire you (and ME!)… visit Freshly Made Sketches to see what I mean. I hope you’ll find lots of samples that inspire YOU and that you’ll play along with us this week!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today! 🙂
