A Painted Petals Easter

Yay!  It’s Wednesday and another awesome sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!  I know I always say this, but you really are going to love this week’s sketch by our lovely, talented and super sweet Amy O’Neill.  I love Amy’s style in both her card designs and her sketch designs.  You’re going to want to bookmark her sketch this week because it’s so clean, easy and really produces a great card… you can’t go wrong with this one!

Amy’s card inspired me to do something with flowers, so I chose my new favorite flower stamp set, Painted Petals.

With Amy’s great design, this was a quick and easy card to put together.  I used the Painted Blooms, which is design to coordinate with the stamp set (don’t you love easy?).  I chose my cards from the DSP, Melon Mambo, Blackberry Bliss and Wild Wasabil

To step it up a bit, I added Dazzling Details Glitter Glue to the stamped flowers, purposely putting it on in raised rows and curves to give it dimension and sparkle.  A quick and simply butterfly made with a stamp from Papillon Potpourri and the Bitty Butterfly punch and colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.  I decided a little extra sparkle never hurt anything, so I added a little trail behind the butterfly.

I hope Amy’s sketch and my card have inspired you to play along at Freshly Made Sketches.  Don’t forget to stop there first to see what the other designers have created to rev you up!

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!
