A Little Springtime

It’s time for another fabulous sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and our hostess, Jen Brum, doesn’t let us down!  Jen’s sketch is clean-lined and simple.  No special tools are needed to follow this sketch, and if you’re like me, you’ve already come up with ways to put that sketch on paper.

I chose to use Simon Says Stamps Springtime Critters stamp set, which I originally bought for Easter cards, but the set never got inked up.  Fortunately, there are lots of stamps in the set that are not necessarily “Easter Only” stamps, and sentiments, too.  I couldn’t resist this set because of my love for anything with sweet little birds and/or birdhouses.

I’m still practicing water coloring, as you can see, and still needing more practice, but at least it’s a card I’ll actually use.  For this card I used a variety of Zig Watercolor Markers paired with an Aqua Painter.  I will never get over my love for coloring with any type of medium.

FMS230-You're-A-TweetheartHere’s a close up photo that shows more details of the coloring.  I just need a little more patience to let one color dry before I try to color the area adjacent to it to help stop the colors from running into each other for this type of water coloring.

FMS230 Jen BrumI hope you enjoyed my card and that you see as many possibilities with Jen’s sketch that I do.  Please come visit us at Freshly Made Sketches to see the extraordinary collection of designs that the “Clean Team” has created to inspire you.  We hope you’ll play along with us this week!
