A CAS Masculine Birthday for FMS238

It’s time for another exciting and enticing sketch for a new Freshly Made Sketches challenge and Kim Singdalsen is our host this week, and she has given us exactly that: an exciting and enticing sketch!  The layers made me want to use By The Tide stamp set, and I generally make cards for men when I use this set.

FMS238-By-the-Tide I stamped the coral directly onto the white background piece and then washed it with very watered down Soft Sky ink.  The shell was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and colored with Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake and the fish was stamped with Marina Mist ink on Marina Mist Cardstock, his eye was enhanced with a black marker and glossed with Glossy Accents.  For a final touch to the fish, a light layer of Wink of Stella gave the fish that scaly shininess.

FMS238-By-the-Tide-BirthdayThe Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Crazy About You stamp set.  The dots suggested by the sketch worked perfectly for my card and I used clear droplets (Pretty Pink Posh) for bubbles.  At the last minute, I added some natural twine with a knot.  This was a super-simple card and if you like it, I hope you’ll give it a try.

Be sure to stop by Freshly Made Sketches to see what the other Clean Team members have created for your pleasure and inspiration.

WOW! This is gorgeous! I love this little set, although if this is the one with the lobster in it, that’s why I haven’t bought it yet. LOL I love what you did here. The soft sky background really allows that adorable fish to pop. I love this!

Why am I singing Inder the Sea all of a sudden? Maybe because this card makes me want to sing! So pretty with the added sparkle and shine!
