The new Frostwood Lodge DSP reminds me of a country cabin, and I used a piece of this home-spun paper for my card today to create a country kitchen feel for a birthday card.

The sketch comes from Jen Mitchell and Freshly Made Sketches. Isn’t it such a lovely, clean sketch to work with? It really allowed my imagination to run free.

I started with a piece of Frostwood Lodge DSP and then added the doily from Flirtatious Specialty DSP. That started taking on that country kitchen feel for me. I had a birthday card in mind so I added the cupcake to the doily. I further enhanced the country charm by adding a Lacey Ribbon Border Punch and a big Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon and Bow.

The ‘cupcake’, in Tangerine Tango, was run through the Crimper, and I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the ‘frosting’. The ’candle’ has a Basic Rhinestone colored yellow with a permanent marker.
I hope you enjoyed the card I created with today’s sketch by Jen, and I hope you’ll check out what the Design Team has created to inspire you, and then play along with this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thanks for stopping by!

What a great use of the Frostwood Lodge print (I love DSPs that have mulitple uses!). That doily is the perfect circle element. I think the rhinestone “flame” is my favorite part. So clever!
