This week Pals Paper Arts Clean and Simple (CAS) Elements of Style is all about ribbon. I’m not so sure this card is going to qualify for CAS; it has a certain amount of bling. But I know it does qualify for Simple!

The fir branches were stamped with the fir tree from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set with Garden Green Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and the ‘window’ was punched with the Ornament Punch. I created the ornament with a small piece of Red Glimmer paper, Whisper White Organza Ribbon and some Basic Pearls and Rhinestones.

The top trim of Silver Glimmer paper was punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and a Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon was tied around it. To create some depth, I attached the top trim with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the main panel was attached to the Real Red card base with dimensionals, too. The sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.

SUPPLIES: Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer and Silver Glimmer; Stamp Sets: Lovely as a Tree and Sincere Salutations; Ink: Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Pad; Tools: Ornament Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch and Stampin’ Dimensionals; Finishing Touches: Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon, Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Garden Green 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Pearls and Basic Rhinestones.
Two Sets That are Worth Their Weight in Gold:
Sincere Salutations: Eight sentiments in a beautiful typeset that cover all your basic needs for cardmaking. This set comes in English (115068) or French (116239) and only in wood-mount.
Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set: I hope you’re starting to see how truly versatile this stamp set is! This only comes in wood-mount (115026) and I know it will be a favorite for years to come.
This was very quick and easy to create. I hope you’ll give it a try!
Thanks for stopping by today!

I think you are so creative! The ornament is so pretty. I am wondering if you attached the ribbon to the glimmer paper then punched or if you cut the ribbon by hand. Its a great idea!

Cindy,
This card is absolutely stunning!! The way you used the ribbon, pearl and rhinestone to decorate the Christmas ball is so very creative. Thanks for the idea of using the tree to create Christmas tree branches. I love that set and never ever would have thought to use it that way…so Thank you!!
As I have said before… morning coffee and inspiration from you are such a treat each and every day!

This is so pretty! I have seen Lovely as a Tree used this way, but the ribbon trim is ingenious!
