I’m falling in love with the Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty DSP! I like how it coordinates with both Cherry Cobbler and Real Red, so for today’s The Paper Players sketch challenge, I’ve decided to make those two colors my primary colors, and use Very Vanilla as a neutral. The sketch had lots going on, with both vertical and horizontal lines, as well as two shapes offsetting each other. I wasn’t sure if I could make the busy DSP work with it, but I had my flowers made, and I loved them, so I HAD to make them work!
Here’s the sketch:

And here’s how I worked my flowers in…

I ‘quilted’ the background layers with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and added Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding so that the strip of DSP wouldn’t compete too much with my flowers. I kept my vertical paper strip plain and didn’t put an image on it, but decided to add the Cherry Cobbler Satin Quilted Ribbon and Basic Pearls to give it a little bling without adding more pattern or images. The sentiment from Hand Penned Holiday Stamp Set was the perfect size for this card, and I heat embossed it with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder.

I hope you’ve been inspired by The Paper Players sketch and by my card, and that you’re on your way to go stamp something! For more inspiration, make sure you stop by The Paper Players Blog to see what the other designers have created for you!
Wishing you a beautiful Sunday, and hopefully a little stamping time today!

Lovely card. The pearls add a touch of bling without detracting from the quilting and floral accents.

Cindy – this is so clever, I love that vertical strip and how you incorporated both ribbon and pearls. This card really looks great with the DSP and not busy at all. Love it!

Cindy,
This is so lovely. The flowers cut from dsp make them really pop. I love how you used the narrow ribbon combination to make a large one – very clever indeed!

Whoa, Cindy! Is this ever pretty! So clean and elegant and the texture from the satin ribbon is fabulous! Did you punch the flower center? The strip of pearls and the embossing are awesome accents, as well. GORGEOUS!!

Wow – I’m not fussy about this paper – but you’ve rocked it with this card! I love how you’ve created that centre section using the quilted ribbon – very clever. And I absolutely love love love how you’ve put that “string” of pearls down the middle.

Love this “quilting”! Such a pretty creation! And I want you to know, I did my first MDS download WITHOUT purchasing MDS! I bought a Christmas set….but I will be shooting you a couple questions I have about it! Thanks for your inspiration!
